Chapter Members That Have Earned HFMA Merit AwardsHFMA Merit Awards recognize years of service to the organization and the health care industry. The Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) recognizes that its strength lies in volunteers who contribute their time, ideas, and energy to serve the healthcare industry, their profession, and one another. Active participation in HFMA at the national, regional and/or chapter levels provides members with numerous opportunities for professional development, information, networking, and advocacy. Established in 1960, the Founders Merit Award Series acknowledges the contributions made by HFMA members. The awards are part of a merit-rating plan in which specific activities are assigned a range of point values. The Founders Merit Award Series was revised in April 2004, returning to its core purpose of “Recognizing the Volunteer in You”. Point categories were adjusted to reflect volunteer activities only – eliminating the accumulation of points for membership and educational attendance. Therefore corresponding point allocations and award levels were adjusted to reflect this philosophy and corresponding member accumulated points were converted effective June 2004. The Founders Merit Award program is a personal incentive program designed to encourage, monitor, and recognize individual volunteer involvement in HFMA. The program encourages members to participate in HFMA functions and to hold leadership roles within the organization and provides an equitable way to translate activities into points. Over time, it will measure member involvement by looking at a collected number of points to determine how active an individual member is in HFMA. The Awards Four awards can be obtained based on the point system. BRONZE Award RecipientsREEVES / SILVER Award RecipientsMUNCIE / GOLD Award RecipientsMEDAL OF HONOR Award Recipients |
